天魔

(sa) deva-māra, [lang id =1028]魔羅 one of the four Māras, who dwells in the sixth heaven. Paranirmita-vaśa-vartin, at the top of the Kāmadhātu, with his innumerable host, whence he constantly obstructs the Buddha-truth and its followers. He is also styled [lang id =1028]殺者 the slayer; also [lang id =1028]波旬 explained by [lang id =1028]惡愛 sinful love or desire, as he sends his daughters to seduce the saints; also [lang id =1028]波卑 ([lang id =1028]波卑夜) Papiyan, the evil one. He is the special Māra of the Śākyamuni period; other Buddhas suffer from other Māras; v. [lang id =1028]魔.

◆此魔即欲界第六天也。 若人勤修勝善， 欲超越三界生死， 而此天魔為作障礙， 發起種種擾亂之事， 令修行人不得成就出世善根， 是名天魔。 （第六天， 即他化自在天也。 ） ◆謂欲界第六他化自在天為魔也。 蓋此天為欲界之主， 見人修道， 以為失我眷屬， 空我宮殿， 即興魔事， 惱亂行者， 令人障蔽正道， 遂失智慧之命， 是名天魔。
